100mph CRB

Well, an average of 105.588mph actually but what's a few mph between friends? This was the average speed set by the CRB logo as it careered it's way round this year's Isle of Mann TT sidecar race. Now despite the CRB logo being a very good logo indeed, we are all aware it couldn't have achieved this speed without the help of sidecar driver John Saunders, and the slightly crazy passenger and friend of CRB Shaun Parker. For those of you not familiar with the TT, it's essentially a race around the Isle of Mann at full speed with the aim of being the quickest over a number of laps. Each lap is 37.5 miles on public (albeit closed) roads. It's become a pilgrimage for all types of bikers who go to watch the action every year. It's a highly dangerous race given all the street furniture and lack of run offs associated with a normal track.

The race has killed over 200 riders in its history, but it's that compelling, still the riders return every year. In case you were wondering, John and Shaun came a fantastic 9th, doesn't sound great but trust us, it's a fantastic achievement for two chaps who race a sidecar in their spare time. Well done lads.
