Olympic Dave

A brief mention if I may for my good old friend David Bradford. David is a freelance writer whose career in motorbike journalism took any unexpected twist when he was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition. The DVLA swiftly took away his licence and his motorbiking days were over as quickly as that. But Dave is quite a special character; rather than give up and mope about, he re-enrolled to Sussex University and completed his MA, then took to the roads and became a very successful long distance runner. So good in fact he started running as a 'sighted' runner for blind runners and worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for RP the eye condition that is slowly robbing his sight. This coming August Bank Holiday, I will be running in the Kings Head Canter at East Hoathly as part of one of Dave's annual fundraising events. More prestigiously though, as you can see from the picture Dave recently ran through Eastbourne with the Olympic Torch after being nominated by the Head of the charity RP Fighting Blindness. If you need a good copy or article writer I can thoroughly recommend his services, take a look at some of his excellent articles from publications such as The Independent and Runners World. http://www.dbfreelance.co.uk/
