Carpentry Work in Eastbourne
Kitchens:
CRB has been responsible for installing hundreds of kitchens across Sussex including Eastbourne. We install all types of kitchen, from bespoke solid oak to off-the-shelf kits. CRB has built a long-term relationship with the national kitchen design and supply company, Howdens. Howdens is different from many kitchen suppliers inasmuch it offers pre-fabricated units that speed up the installation time on site and save clients money. The national supplier has branches in almost all major towns and has an extensive stock list that includes hundreds of types of kitchen. This good level of availability is important to both the contractor and client, as it means replacement parts are only ever a phone call away, avoiding frustrating delays. CRB places many orders with Howdens and benefits from trade discount, so we are able to pass on preferential rates to clients. Our kitchen installers are meticulous and professional; they know how important a kitchen is to the home, so they focus on swift and efficient working, keeping the various elements, such as electrics, plumbing and tiling, well organised and managed to get the kitchen up and running as quickly as possible.
First Fix Carpentry:
"First fix" is the name given to the main elements of structural carpentry. This includes early procedures, from building studwork walls and staircases, to pitching the roof. CRB uses only Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited timber (which comes from certifiable sources). We understand timber and use the strongest, graded types where they are needed. CRB works with respected suppliers to ensure we have access to the best-quality timber, which not only gives our clients better, straighter, and stronger buildings but also keeps our carpenters happy - because they love to work with good wood! CRB works with all types of wood and is able to install oak frame roofs and buildings using traditional techniques as well as modern bespoke Glu-lam beam systems.
Second Fix Carpentry:
"Second fix" is the name given to wood finishing. In most buildings, this term covers components such as doors, skirtings, architraves and windowsills. CRB uses many different kinds of timber for these elements and is able to offer clients access to oak, beech, ash, pine, as well as less well-known wood types. We also spend time with clients to consult on and select the most suitable finishing details, encompassing everything from the type of door to the colour of the hinges.
Joinery:
"Joinery" is generally used to describe wood products that are manufactured off site. CRB's skilled carpenters use the workshops at Bourne Street, Eastbourne, to fabricate and prepare timber products for installation at clients' premises. Examples of our carpenters' work can be seen at Eastbourne's famous seafront landmark, the Bandstand; the screens of the Bandstand, used to close the thoroughfares during performances, were fabricated by CRB. We work with local joinery companies to create bespoke items such as sash windows and bi-fold doors. At the early stages, we work closely with these experts to ensure the design matches perfectly the client's requirements. This is also important in cases where a conservation department requires detail drawings to show how the finished products will appear when installed.
Recent projects for CRB Contractors in Eastbourne have included many types of building and roofing works, including works to various churches, schools, office buildings, hotels and homes. Example of these are a wet room and conservatory in Hanover Road, the refurbishment of a block of flats in Compton Street and several landmark refurbishments on the seafront including hotels, the Eastbourne Bandstand and the construction of beach huts for Eastbourne Borough Council.
