Hotel Refurbishment in Eastbourne

The owners of The Cumberland Hotel, on Eastbourne's Grand Parade, selected CRB based on knowledge of our respected workmanship. This client asked us to complete the entire external refurbishment of the prominent hotel. CRB had previously offered the hotel solutions for maintaining the hotel's roof; the owners had also observed our work on Eastbourne's famous Bandstand. The hotel refurbishment was much more than a large decorating project; it encompassed the removal of the dilapidated old storm shutters which had been out of use for decades. CRB recognised immediately that a thorough approach to the project was essential, as the shutters were supported by iron frames requiring careful removal. CRB invested much of the project time into removing every single last element of iron from the external walls, which meant drilling deep into and around the butterfly tail iron pins holding the frames in place. This kind of preparation is often overlooked by less thorough builders, but it is important because the iron, no matter how deep in the wall, eventually corrodes, leading to cracks and rust-coloured streaks in the future. The foresight and attention to detail shown by CRB here is typical of our approach and sets us apart from other contractors.

CRB is a family-owned and managed company with a staff of 16 full-time employees, supported by a network of specialist sub-contractors.
